Mark Taimanov title

In this final game of the USSR Championship, a special stake was riding on the outcome for Mark Taimanov. A clear victory against Anatoly Lutikov would gain him a spot in the Interzonals, leading to the World Championship. In the middle game he goes all out for a quick kill, catching the white King in the center. It turns out that the victory wasn't there, but in a flurry of time-trouble complications, he winds up a piece down but six Pawns up! This is of the most exciting game on record.
