WCC 2007 title

Viswanathan Anand won the World Championship in Mexico City to become the undisputed World Chess Champion. Anand finished undefeated with 9.0 points out of 14 games. Kramnik beat Aronian to move to second place. The World Championship 2007 took place in the Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel in Mexico City from September 13th-30th, 2007. Eight players were qualified in a double round robin tournament. The prize fund was US $1.3 million. Viswanathan Anand took the title a point clear of defending world champion Vladimir Kramnik. They will meet in a match next year.
