Chess games.

Undoubtedly, the most impressive
Chess database is located at the University of
Pittsburgh Chess Club FTP Site.
We are sure that you will find very old games and much more in
PGN and other formats. The URL address is:
http://www.pitt.edu/~schach/Archives/index2.html
It seems that they allow only 50 users at a time so you may need
to try again later if unable to log in. An index of the
entire site is in the file allindex.txt
on the Newstuff
directory.
