I'm trying to find out if red (as
opposed to black) Chess pieces are
ever used.
Are some sets made in red and white, or is Lewis Carrol's Red
Queen a figment of his imagination.
Any light you can throw on this would be much appreciated.

In the Gareth Williams book "Master Pieces" (The
Architecture of Chess - ISBN
0-670-89381-1) there are several Chess
sets pictures depicting black pieces as "red pieces": pages
40, 43, 49, 58, 65, etc.
