I would like to know the proper way
to annotate when a Pawn is promoted to a Queen.

When a Pawn (assuming that is white
and on "d" column) reaches the eighth rank and promoted to
Queen, the notation should be as follows: 1. d8=Q (d7 to
d8, Pawn is promoted to Queen).
