Changing a Pawn to
any other piece

In every game I play, the Pawn
always turns into a Queen whenever it reaches
a8, b8, c8,
d8, e8,
f8, g8, or h8.
This question is related to
problem #3 of Mate in one move
section. Is there a way to turn
it into another piece besides a Queen?
I appreciate your website.
Thank you.

Dear viewer,
The java Chess program "Little
ChessPartner" from Lokasoft is a very fine software and a formidable Chess
opponent!
It features a book opening
repertoire, option to play white or black, settings for levels
of play (fixed time or ply depth), won't allow illegal moves, it
makes and accepts the en-passant maneuver, promotion, castling,
problem setup, and it's able to find mate in 6 (default level),
also, recognizes check, checkmate, and stalemate.
Among his very few and insignificant
limitations are: an option to draw a game, an option to take
back a move (which is illegal anyway), and an option to promote
a piece other than a Queen which is shown in our Mate in one,
problem #3.
Also, when setting up problems and
the program reads a FEN file it won't allow en-passant afterwards. This situation
is reflected in our
Mate in one problem
#1.
Overall,
Lokasoft Little
ChessPartner is awesome!!
