Hi,

On your page (Chess Quiz Level 1) you state that there are twenty possible ways to open a game. If so, are they legal moves and do all of them have Opening names?

Dear viewer,

At the beginning of a game, white has 20 possible first moves and all of them are legal moves, of course.

Also, those 20 moves have Opening names. The names are as follows:

a2-a3........ Anderssen's Opening
a2-a4........ Ware Opening
b2-b3........ Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack
b2-b4........ Orang-Utan Opening
c2-c3........ Saragossa Opening
c2-c4........ English Opening
d2-d3........ Mieses Opening
d2-d4........ Queen's Opening
e2-e3........ Van't Kruys Opening
e2-e4......... King's Opening
f2-f3........... Barnes' Opening
f2-f4........... Bird's Opening
g2-g3......... Benko Opening
