significance and explores their possible origins.

found and weigh up the myths and theories surrounding
them. What do the intricately-carved characters tell us
about society at the time they were made?
The exhibition brings together Chess
pieces from the British Museum and National Museums
Scotland. New research explores the enduring mystery and
intrigue of these iconic artefacts.
