Just would like to know how
symmetrical a Chess game can go on.
Is there any record of a
real game played by top Chess players following a symmetrical
pattern?

Book of Chess Records shows the following Chess game moves as
the record established for a symmetrical position in a real
game:
After moves 19. Rb2 Rb7,
the symmetric pattern was holding. This ended up when the game
continued as follows:
20. Be5 Nxe5
21. dxe5 d4
22. Rxc2 Rc7
23. Kf1 g5
24. Ke2 dxc3
25. Kd3 Rc4
26. Rxc3 Rxb4
27. Rc7 Draw
