FIDE World Championship  •  Reykjavik, Iceland
August 8/9, 1972 / Game 12

On this game 12, Spassky entered the game room and sat down five minutes after Fischer's first move.  This was seen as a Spassky's psychological counterattack to the Fischer's repeated delays in the early games. The first six moves were an exact repetition of game 6 won by Bobby Fischer.  However, on the next move Boris Spassky makes a variation that seems to surprise Fischer by forcing him to react to avoid future complications. Game ended in a draw.
