Again, as in game nine, Boris Spassky postpones game 14 by reasons of nervous fatigue. When the match resumes, Fischer arrives to the table seven minutes late. Bobby Fischer fans expected his classical King's Pawn opening but instead he chooses the Queen's Gambit as if Fischer turned conservative with his ample lead gained. Game fourteen was agreed drawn in a Rook and Pawn endgame and after forty moves.
