Surprise, Fischer arrives on time to this game but quickly makes an official protest for the noise caused by the audience and he threats to leave the match. Efim Geller, Spassky's chief second, accused Fischer of using unethical means to disturb Spassky's concentration. In this game, Bobby Fischer sacrificed the exchange but Boris Spassky was unable to win with his material advantage. He allowed a draw by triple repetition at the second session.
