Game 6 begins with both players having 2.5 points each and for the first time in his life, Fischer played the Queen's Gambit that later on in the game turned into the Tartakover Variation, a line which Spassky had never lost.  Spassky resigned after 41 moves and joined the 1500 spectators in applauding his opponent. Did you see that?, that was class., Fischer said later of Spassky's show of applause.  Bobby Fischer was now winning the match.
