Leningrad, 1960

In one sense, the most famous game of all, the final position appeared on the demonstration board in the film ‘‘From Russia With Love.’’  Both Spassky and Bronstein are imaginative players and aficionados of the King's Gambit.   When black thinks to gain time by attacking a Rook,  white ignores it and launches a sparkling attack. In Russian, this game is known as the ‘‘Blue Bird’’, but this doesn't translate too well.
