WCC 2006 title

World Championship match between Veselin Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik held in Elista, the Capital of Kalmykia, southern Russia fom September 23 to October 13, 2006. This twelve game match had a minimum guaranteed prize fund amount of 1 million US dollars. Kramnik did not show up for the fifth game and threatened to withdraw from the match after he was accused by his opponent's manager of cheating by taking too many bathroom breaks in his private bathroom - an apparent suggestion that Kramnik was secretly using a technical device or a computer program to help him with his moves. After 4 extra rapid tie break games, Kramnik wins with a final score of 8.5 to 7.5
