WCC 2018

This 2018 world Chess championship was held in London, United Kingdom at The College in Holborn from November 9 to November 28, 2018 under the auspices of the World Chess Federation (FIDE). The 12-game match between the current world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway and challenger 26 year old Fabiano Caruana of USA would determine the 2018 world Chess champion. The time control for the games were 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game plus an additional 30 seconds per move starting from move 1. Players cannot not agree to a draw before Black's 30th move. Magnus Carlsen retains the world title after winning 3 of 4 tie-break games with a 9 to 6 final score.
